Appearance

The Bernese Mountain dog’s coat usually consists of black, brown, and white, and they all usually look about the same, but a poodle can be a wide variety of colors which allows a Bernese also to be a wide variety of colors. Although, the most common color is one that is similar to the Bernese

Along with the different colors, the bernedoodle coat also varies in type. They can have straight like a Bernese, wavy, or curly like a poodle. The general rule for the hair type is that the more straightforward it is, the more the dog will shed and be less hypoallergenic. Although it is rare for a bernedoodle to have completely straight hair, if you are getting a bernedoodle because it is hypoallergenic, you won’t have to worry about it too much.

Living Needs

With Bernedoodles, you get the best of both worlds. Bernedoodles love to be active and go on hikes or runs, but they also love to snuggle and be around people.  Bernedoodles love to be around their owner constantly and they don’t know what personal space is. They are also one that should not be left alone for very long because this can cause separation anxiety and they will develop bad habits of whining and chewing.

Care

As mentioned earlier, bernedoodles can have either straight or curly hair, and they both have different needs for caring. If your bernedoodle’s hair is curly, you will need to make sure you brush it on a regular basis as it gets mats a lot easier than straight hair does. However, with straight hair, your bernedoodle will shed a lot more and will be less hypoallergenic. With staight hair, you will need to clean up surfaces your dog is on a lot more often. But if you brush it more often, this will help get a lot of the loose hair out and they will shed less. If you are having trouble finding the right brush that works for your Bernedoodle, here are three brushes that work best for bernedoodles.

Bernedoodles are overall one of the best dog breeds out there. They like to be active and will accompany you on your hikes and adventures, and they love to cuddle! Plus, they are adorable and will surely turn some heads at the dog park! Bernedoodles get the amazing smarts from it’s poodle parent and the goofiness from it’s bernese parent.
