How Big Does a Bernedoodle Get?

If you are considering getting a bernedoodle, there are many things you need to consider to know if they are the right breed for you. One of the biggest factors is how big they are going to get. There are four sizes: a toy, a mini, a medium-sized, and a standard size.

How big your Bernedoodle is will depend on how big their poodle parent is.

Toy-sized poodles are the smallest size of dogs; when they are full-grown, they get about 6 to 9 pounds. Although, you need to be careful about who you get your puppy from if you decide to get a small dog because they are usually prone to more diseases. So you need to ensure the breeder prioritizes health more than small size.

Tiny Bernedoodles

Tiny Bernedoodles are the smallest Bernedoodles there are and are usually around 10-24 pounds. Tiny Bernedoodles come from a mix of a toy poodle and a standard Bernese mountain dog. Their temperament is about the same as a standard Bernedoodle, they love being around people and cuddling, but they don’t need as much exercise as a standard bernedoodle as they are a lot smaller.

Also, Tini Bernedoodles tend to bark more than standard-size Bernedoodles because when a dog is smaller, they have to show dominance through their voice as they can’t through size. However, that being said, they still don’t bark that often and only do when they feel the need to.

Mini Bernedoodles

Mini Bernedoodles are a mix between miniature poodles and Bernese mountain dogs. Their size at full-grown is usually around 25-50 pounds. They are perfect for people who want a small but not a tiny dog. You won’t have to worry about them getting hurt as easily as they are a little bigger. Mini Bernedoodles tend to bark only when they feel necessary, like when the doorbell rings or something similar.

Medium Bernedoodles

Medium Bernedoodles aren’t an official size; this is just used to describe mini bernedoodles that are a little bigger or standard bernedoodles that are smaller than usual. Medium bernedoodles are usually around 35-35 pounds. This is the perfect size for a dog; they aren’t too big and aren’t super small. Medium Bernedoodles will also need more exercise than the smaller ones will.

Standard Bernedoodles

The standard Bernedoodle full-grown weighs around 70 to 90 pounds! Sometimes they get up to 100 pounds! These dogs are very loving and great snuggle buddies while also being the perfect hiking companions. The standard Bernedoodles need a lot more physical activities as they have much more energy.

When is Do Bernedoodles Stop Growing?

When your puppy grows into a dog, it can feel like they never stop growing and just keep getting bigger! Bernedoodles usually stop growing around the age of 1.5 years to 3 years. That may seem like a wide window, but just the breeder about your puppies parents. A dog full grown size relies on genes the most. So you can ask to see the parents and ask if they remember when they stopped growing.

Does Gender Affect Full-Grown Size?

Yes and no. Boy dogs tend to be bigger girl dogs, but I have seen times when a boy dog will have a chunkier sister in the same litter. So most of the time, the boy dogs get bigger, but there are some cases where the girl dogs are bigger.

There are a few different sizes that a Bernedoodle can be, but the main factors that decide how big they will be when full-grown are genetics and the sizes of the parents.
